
Clumber Park is owned and managed by the National Trust, and is a very large parkland. The site also has a Chapel which is in a “Gothic revival” style. The quality and style of woodcarving is impressive and surprising. The following images should give an impression:
The work is quite detailed and flamboyant for a church in the UK at its time, and wouldn’t be totally out of place in a European Catholic Church. The biggest surprise was the sheer amount of wood carving, with little to no stone carving.
