Welcome to the Kent Woodcarvers site. The Kent Woodcarvers group was formed from two regions of the British Woodcarvers Association (BWA) – namely the Wormshill and Hamlett Wood regions which both existed within Kent.
We have collected a number of resources together on the site that will hopefully be of interests to you. If you are interested in the group then please feel free to contact us, or come along to one of our workshops.
Wormshill Workshops
A display table is always available and members are invited to bring their latest creation (even old ones we haven’t seen recently). Don’t forget the piece of carpet to protect the floor!
For the information of new or potential members the workshop is held monthly on a Sunday and we are “open” from 10a.m. to 4.30p.m. Tea and coffee provided, bring your own lunch.

Commissions
We are often approached by people and organisations looking to commission a woodcarving. Whilst most of our members carve purely for personal pleasure and produce carvings for themselves, family or friends, one of our carvers frequently undertakes commissions. Details can be found at https://www.woodwarlock.co.uk
Timber
At many of the meetings we are able to provide timber, and we will try to arrange for some on a particular date by request. All pieces should be priced. We have Tulip, Mahogany, Plane, Walnut, and some other odd pieces.
Tools and Equipment
The club toolbox, for anyone to use, has 2 sets of gouges, 2 large clamps and some ‘fine’ abrasive. We are always open for suggestions for additional tools.
The sharpening machine can be borrowed between meetings. The new sanding machine can be brought to a meeting on request. The club also has an Arbortec cutter, with angle grinder; also a flexible drive carving tool similar to a Foredom.
Books and Videos
We have an extensive library of books and all of these can be borrowed using a simple library system.
